Here is the site to see how the Hutchinson volleyball players are doing at the JO National Tournament in Dallas.

Right now, Brittany Stamer is playing for the 18-1s. They are 1-1 after Day One. She plays for Northern Lights.

Later on, Mackenzie Piechowski, Kayla Tronick, Jessica Zieman and Brianne Stamer will be playing. Former Hutchinson player, Ashley Murtha, who has transferred to Eastview in Apple Valley, is on the Northern Lights 15-1s.

Kevin Anderson does a great job each day with a recap as well on his blog.

* Got this from the Hutchinson chamber (sounds fun)

Greetings Everyone,
I am excited to invite you to join us in our first ever, Chamber CVB golf outing. Please mark your calendars now for Monday, July 28 at the Crow River Golf Club. Details are on the flier attached below. This is a socializing, networking, have fun, all levels of golfers welcome tournament.

Not a golfer? Not a problem! Come to the course later and try the non-golfers putting contest and then stay for dinner ($20). Volunteers are also welcome that day to help with registration, set-up and coordination.

Put together several teams within your business and challenge each other for bragging rights. If you don't have a team, you can register as an individual and we will put together teams with other individuals.

Sponsor opportunities are available on a first come, first served basis and/or you can donate items for door prizes and/or goodie bags. Sponsor a hole, or the practice putting green, and staff it with a fun game for players to enjoy and to help them learn more about your business. Help us to make this a fun event that can be enjoyed by all.

Events planned so far include registering to win a Coors Golf Bag at the registration/social, skins game, yard stick game, have the "pro" drive, longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin and more.

Come on out and enjoy a day in Minnesota's Hometown!

* The Redwood Speedway will host an exciting grandstand event for the upcoming Redwood County Fair which will be held on July 24th at 7:00 P.M. The event is being named the KLGR “Night of Destruction” as there will be five different divisions featured during this event.

The ever popular Figure 8 Racing will be on the slate. These cars were part of the regular Redwood Speedway Sunday night action in the 80’s and past participants have mentioned several times that they would like the chance to compete once again. There will be a limit of 20 entries taken for this division. We will be making a figure 8 track on what is now the Bomber track.

The next division will also be featured on the figure 8 track for the first time ever; the Trailer/Camper race, this event is a spectator favorite. There aren’t many building rules for this division but it will be fun to see what type of trailers or campers will be racing against each other without getting hit in the middle of the figure 8 track. There will be a limit of 10 entries for this event.

The next division is similar to the Trailer/Camper race but is a Team Chain Race in which 2 cars are used per team. The first car has a motor and the second car will be chained to the first car. There is also a limit of 10 teams for this event. This type of racing is also a 1st at the Redwood Speedway.

On the schedule is also the Compact enduro class in which up to 25 compact cars will run 25-30 laps on the track and the always popular Ladies Powder-puff enduro is also on the slate. There will be a limit of 20 cars for this event. Entries and rules for all of these events can be picked up at the Redwood Speedway.

For information on any of these events contact Bob Allen at 507-931-4803 (office) or 507-327-8416 (track).
