A 22-year-old Maple Grove woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Sunday (June 30) near Cedar Mills.

The State Patrol has not released the name of the woman, pending notification of family. According to the State Patrol, she was eastbound on State Highway 7 in a 2006 Saturn Ion at about 3:50 p.m.

Her car was struck by a 1999 Dodge Caravan, driven by Anita Vanderwege, 38, of Colorado Springs, Colo. The Caravan was westbound on Highway 7, then spun out of control and crossed into the oncoming lane after it was broadsided by a 1989 Lincoln Town Car. Robert D. Scott, 78, of Hutchinson, was southbound on County Road 27 in the Town Car and had no apparent injuries. Alcohol was detected in Scott's system.

Vanderwege was brought to Hutchinson Community Hospital, then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was in critical condition and suffering from internal injuries. The Maple Grove woman died at the scene of the crash.
