The team is voted on by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association, and despite a 25-3 record through the section playoffs there wasn't a single Hutchinson player on the list. Not even honorable mention!
Maybe the Tigers are too balanced and don't have a player with big enough stats to make the list, but every other team playing in the state semifinals has at least one player mentioned.
I guess Hutch will have to continue fighting for respect and proving people wrong.

Perennially judged as one of Minnesota’s and the nation’s best community newspapers, the Hutchinson Leader serves 20 communities in McLeod, Meeker, Renville, Sibley and Wright counties.

Statistics and nominations aren't the real reason no Hutchinson players were included on the all-state team. It's exposure to the coaches that choose these teams.
Outside of a match against Minnetonka and a weak tournament in Burnsville, Hutch never made it into the Twin Cities this season. It's hard to judge players that you don't see. If you look at the AAA list, it's dominated heavily by suburban teams. Waconia and St. Francis are the farthest out there.
Most of these players and their teams were at big tournaments in Apple Valley, Shakopee and Lakeville and that is where they are seen.
Offensively, Hutch is so balanced, so it's really hard to stack up against teams such as Andover, Blaine, Eden Prairie, etc. that are so outside hitting dominated. Their hitters pile up the numbers pretty fast.
Only one setter and two liberos were chosen - Doyle is regarded as the state's best setter. Dordan the same in Blaine. I guess Berger from Shakopee would be up for debate, but again, when coaches were wstching the big tourneys, she was outstanding and left a major impression.
It's just awards, though. Four seniors have scholarships to play in college next year (one in hockey) and they didn't need an all-state award to get there.
Congrats Tigers on a great season! Getting to play on the last day of the season two years in a row is pretty special.
