A Minnesota company has won federal approval for an e. coli vaccine for cattle. It's a new weapon against a foodborne disease that can cause serious illness and even death in people. Epitopix of Willmar says some major packers and producers will be the first to use it. The USDA calls it "an important step toward improving food safety." This type of E.Coli is found in the intestines of the cattle. How is it getting into the meat? E.Coli as we all know is found in crap! They recalled thousands of pounds of beef last year. What? Really?? And this vaccine "Epitopix"- study shows it kills 99% of the bacteria. What is in this vaccine? So the USDA is saying it is ok to grind up crap in the meat as long as we don't all get sick from it. You have got to be kidding me. Thanks for improving food safety!! How about making sure you don't cut open the intestines to infect the meat in the first place. OMG
