How you can help? For an international response, a monetary gift is the best way to help those in need. Certain in-kind donations may not be appropriate for cultural, political, economic or administrative reasons. The American Red Cross has the ability to obtain and transport needed supplies.
Your donation of $100 will provide a family with emergency supplies for a month. Families who have lost everything in a disaster need immediate help just to make it through the first terrifying hours and days. Cooking utensils, personal care items, water, blankets and food: These simple items are essential as families struggle to survive.
A donation of $60 will provide shelter for a family. Many families have lost their homes and are willing to build temporary shelters – but there is a desperate need for supplies. Your donation will provide tarps, wood and other items needed to build a shelter.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated. The need is great for immediate help. Your monetary donation will help relieve the suffering now as well as provide for the long-term recovery.
You can help the victims of countless crises around the world each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.
